We have an exciting opportunity available here at Barking and Dagenham College. We are currently looking for Enrichment Assistant to join our Enrichment team.

You will join us on a full-time, term-time only basis and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £22,441-£24,264 pa inc London Weighting (pro rata'd to 36hpw, 38 weeks per year).

The Enrichment Assistant role:

Reporting to the Support Life and Enrichment Manager you will plan and deliver an appropriate range of cross-College activities in line with the enrichment programme and national themes which will engage students and contribute to their personal and social development and employability.

In addition you will promote and develop the Learner Voice across college and support learners to set up and run clubs and societies.

Key Responsibilities of our Enrichment Assistant:

  • Plan and organise virtual events for student interaction and engagement.
  • Work with the Student Life and Enrichment Manager to develop a programme of crosscollege activities e.g. Freshers’ Fair, Health and Fitness Fair and themed events (e.g. International Women’s Day).
  • Develop and deliver a range of student enrichment activities, principally for 16-18 year olds but inclusion for adult students.
  • To support drug, alcohol and substance misuse education programme to all students This will include using external organisations and also internal resources to deliver sessions to students during tutorials.
  • Support curriculum to ensure that curriculum enrichment is planned, this can include sourcing funding, attending trips, booking guest speakers.
  • To effectively effective monitoring and reporting student enrichment, employability and pastoral (EEP) events on the appropriate college systems.

Our ideal Enrichment Assistant should have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Educated to A level or the equivalent standard (E)
  • Experience of working in an education environment or a similar setting with young people. (E)
  • Have, or be willing to take, Designated Safeguarding Lead qualification (E)
  • Ability to plan, organise and deliver events, using excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills including effective use of IT systems and tools (E)
  • Knowledge of Students’ Union recruitment and activities (D)
