A summary:

We’re an ambitious bunch here at BDC; and we’re currently in the market for likeminded characters that are interested in breaking into the high-level learner support space. We have a number of brand-new opportunities across Higher Level Teaching support to join our team on a permanent basis at the Rush Green campus.

You’ll operate at the heart of our commitment to inclusive education; HLTAs embody our learner-centric ethos in supporting success across GCSE Maths. You’ll play a pivotal role in nurturing and coaching learners to overcome barriers, particularly those with additional needs. You’ll have a natural ‘flair’ for collaboration, inclusivity and a thirst for growth in the Teaching Support space.

What we’ll need from you:

  • GCSE or Level 2 Maths (or Equivalent) at Pass is essential
  • HLTA Status/equivalent level of education, or a willingness to work towards this pathway. Please note pass grades at GCSE Maths & English (or Level 2 Equivalent) are essential.
  • A demonstrable background of continuous development in a professional or academic capacity – ideally in the Student Support space across Further Education – be it administrative or teaching-support related.
  • The ability to influence change and cultivate meaningful, quality relationships with colleagues and leaners across the College.
  • A communicative approach to tailored-learning with the ability to adapt to unique learner needs.
  • We’re very much open to professional background. If you’re a Graduate seeking to explore your options, or a Teaching Assistant seeking to cultivate a specialist career path – we’re interested in getting to know you. Those with experience mentoring/supporting learners with SEN needs (including ADHD, Dyslexia and Autism) are of particular interest.
  • Knowledge of/interest in Safeguarding, Child Protection procedures, assistive technology and inclusive teaching practices.

What we’ll offer in return:

  • A wide range of benefits including a competitive salary, an excellent pension scheme, a generous academic work calendar (40 weeks per year), a free on-site gym/parking, subsidised hair and beauty treatments, well-being days and plenty more!
  • The opportunity to cultivate your role to form a place in the College, fostering best learning practices with learners and colleagues alike – as well as opportunities to clearly define your own career pathway.
